Terror Strikes, Again in Mumbai

My sympathy and prayers with all the Mumbaiites..

Lucky enough my brother that he was not in Mumbai on the day there were blasts.
And Lucky enough our families and friends in Mumbai that everyone is safe.

United We stand.. I am so proud and delighted that strangers helped strangers yesterday in Mumbai.

I hope Mumbaiiites get justice soon.

May God Bless Mumbai.

I'll roger that. Question here is: how ready is Mumbai? When one train goes down, the city gets paralyzed. And more people get into the city everyday than leave. It needs a major overhaul.

Somehow when all systems go down, people kick in and lift you up...amazing!

I had colleagues who were working 50 metres from the bomb sites and they talk about the extraordinary spirit of bystanders and shop keepers who offered bread, water, transport etc....while the police, municipality stood by and watched...
Like u said God Bless MUmbai!

i echo your thoughts...

the terrorists should be shot on sight. what do they garner from this, other than more ill will against them and harsher treatment.

Not just soon but some lasting solution should be found.

hola amigos!

pls excuse me for my delayed reply, crawing from piles of work..

I truely agree with all of you. The question is how would this incident change our system? which i highly doubt, nothing will change! all of us will crib for 10 days, and everything will be still remain same, and we will forget, and bam, it will happen again. This is not helping, instead there has to be a change at grass-root level, and people will have to act and react. we have to eliminate those "bad" politicians from the parliament, and instead, encourage "good" politicians in the high chair. 9/11 in USA still is a hottest topic after almost 4 years, and we are on the verge to forget 7/11 which occurred exactly a week back, with no leads to who played role in this!

We should ask ourselves, what am I doing for this...

Yes, we have faced this so many times now and every time, there were INDIANS to help INDIANS around. Nobody, no terrorist can shatter that spirit. You are right, united we stand.

But govt should have tightened the security even before. They should have learnt some lessons in the aftermath of the first bombings. Prevention is always better than cure. It should not have waited for something to happen, to tigten the security.

sreejith, honestly, you're a terd. being "indian" is great and stuff, but people died here, and their relatives have been shattered, spirit demolished. And keep your agenda of what the indian government to do with your sorry ass.

Re: Khakra

From your profile, I came to know that you are a journalist. I honestly do not know what newspaper accepted you as their employee, seeing your horrible language. Anyway, I guess it is that kinda newspaper/magazine or anything.

I have never said anything about the Indian govt dear...... The blasts happened in Mumbai and the previous blasts also happened in Mumbai. It was upto the Maharashtra govt to tighten the security in the first place. If, by any chance, despite being a journo, you don't know one fact, then let me enlighten you that the protection of life and wealth of a citizen is the duty of any govt.

dude sreejith.. who accepted me? how about CNN, sample that. any questions?

I partly understand your point that security should've been tightened. but you sit wherever you are, happy to blog and dole out advice to people. you have a right to your opinion, i'll give you that. i have lived in bombay, in those trains, and with a person who died in that incident. It's easy for people like you to say "ah, we should do that, and ah, we should've done that, and india's spirit is great." truth? for the people who were really affected by the bombing, the damn spirit isn't great. their spirit was emotionally sapped, quite the opposite of what you think.

Pal Khakra, please read my comment there completely mate! We should not try to boost up the terrorists by only expressing the feeling of scare and bereavement. We need to overcome whatever that has happened. You said your friend died in the blasts. And you are shouting against a person like me, who is not anyway near the site, but only blogs! Why don't you shout against the govts and why did you pick me out? The govts have also expressed the view that our spirits cannot be shattered by such incidents.

We need to learn lessons from where we lost the last time. The govt didn't do that. It is not upto you or me to tighten the security. It is upto the govt. The only thing that I can do at the moment is, as you said - blog. If those who sit in responsible chairs aren't doing anything, why should one fear to call a spade a spade.

As regrading 'united we stand' and 'spirit of an Indian', it is upto people like me who sit far off the incident sites to give strength to the survivors and the bereaved in the only possible ways we can. What is the problem with that? I have even seen mothers hailing 'Vande Mataram' by the bier of their sons who were killed in the Kargil war....

That's it, and I would not like to mar Venus' page with a flame war. It is difficult to wake up someone who feigns sleep.

your point is valid. the difference between you and me here is that I am in grief for a friend who died, you are an observer. Seeing something is different, feeling it is different. So i'll repeat what I originally said: Your agenda or recommending better security to avoid the blast is BS. For the sake of the relatives of the dead, don't cry on spilt milk and recommend what should've been done to avoid the blasts. The security wasn't tight, the blast happened and people died. People are crying and their spirit is low.

I feel the pain and if you told the very same thing you originally said, my friend's parents would smack you in the face.
