I DID IT!!!

I did tandem sky diving on Saunday!!
it was AMAZING!!
One mile of free fall in the air at the speed of 120 mph !!!
It was just AWSOME, I'm gonna do it again..
I was not nervous or feared at all, just the first moment when the instructor opened cessna's door and asked me to peak out without holding anything, I overcame my resistance, and then I was all ready to fall :)

Have video taken, just have to figure out how to capture pics out of it..
will post pictures after I figure it out :)

@Sreejith:
yep, yep, I did it!! :)
I closed my eyes for a few seconds after I dived into the sky at first. Then I realized, I should experience each and every moment of my this dive, whatever it may be, and I did!

@Jithu:
basically, I went for sky diving to overcome my fear. i was getting all kinds of advices with the main theme of parachute not getting opened. To my Mum also I just told her that I might go for sky diving, so she would worry may be li'l less ;)

thanks for asking.. I've been doing great, can't complain! I was at my current fav singer's concert (u wanna guess who?!?!) on sat, and sunday, sky diving, and againt coming weekend, going for camping.. enjoying last few warm weekends of the year :)

OK, i'll reveal the name of the music director whose concert I went to, the legend is aka HIMESH RESHAMMIYA!!

Hope, you are enjoying your new job. would like to see you back in action again :)

@bablu:
Thank you :)
I think, next time, I will be enjoying it more.. I have already booked my next skydive, I can go anytime now :)
I might actually take the course for my newly found: hobby skydiving :)

@AL:
Thank you Alexis :)

I have a dvd of my sky dive experience, and the problem is the windows printscreen dose not capture image, when I try to save it, the image part becomes blan, so will have to sit patiently and figure out how to capture an image.

Thank you, I Wish all of you too a very happy Onam..

where are you going for camping? enjoy the last few days of summer!!
take care amiga :)

venus said...

@Lorena:
no dear, I dived from 11000 ft height, which is about two miles of vertical distance in the air, of which about one mile was free fall, and rest was with the parachute opened :)

@Camping is not decided yet, we might just go for hiking from morning to eve may be.

tell me @ urself, what is your plan for the long weekend? How was your smoky mountain trip? I am very happy to see you happy :)

happy onam!
btw that anonymous above me is me :D

venus said...

@AK:
which joke :( ??
if I'm asking u this, probably I don't know.. pls share i if u don't mind.

There was an interesting T-shirt they were selling which said: "Why do you want to jump off a perfectly fine airplane?"

@poison:
I was wondering who is this anonymous person visiting my blog until I read your another comment below :)

It's not that scary, believe me! They have two parachutes- primary whic usully they open, and a secondary, which they will open in case primary fails. And they have back of a back up- a sensor, which will open secondary parachute at the height of 2000 ft if none of them are opened yet!

Ha ha...

I am a bit late to congratulate the brave gal who was afraid of free fall =))
You are the first person whom I have met, who was afraid of something before experiencing the same :D

Nyways... nice to see you enjoying every weekend these days :) too much fun, uh?? :))

Geo said...

btw, u said u were falling at 120 mph. i used a car to take me to that speed :D

venus said...

@Geo:
Thank you for your wishes!

fun?!? I know someone, who just went to minneapolis over the long weekend, and had loads of fun!!! ;)

u can not feel the wind rush with sitting in a comfy car all around covered with windshields and windows thought the car's ravving up @ 120mph :)

dude, I had some fear of free fall, not as much that I can not overcome it :)
since when I came to know about the fear of free fall, i had decided to do this one day!

Invincible said...

bravo !
[so u got ur ears covered :).]

I would love to do it some day. Must be adrenaline rush !

You can upload the video in rapidshare/yousendit/megaupload and we can vicariously fly thru ur adventure.

r u in Calif somewhere? is the singer Sonu Nigam?

venus said...

@invinci:
Thank you :)

naah, I'm @ Illinois Chicago :)

if you are talking @ the concert I went to, the singer was my current fav Himesh Reshamiyya!

I will have to first convert it to avi format, and then I can upload it.

Invincible said...

did you say 'favourite singer' ?
:)
is it in Quick Time format?

OK .. too many questions :)

venus said...

naah, I don't see any file when i open this dvd in comp. it plays ok in my dvd player as well as my work laptop, but does not play in my home lappy, so can't figure out what is going on here...

yep, he's my current favorite singer :D

Someday ganja turtle too, will fly! until then ciao! Waiting for the pics of a slightly deranged but deliriously happy human being falling to the ground from thousands of feet and paying for it! ;-)
